Below is a word from the Lord God Almighty that I received in 2007. It cost me a lot of friendships and status as it was roundly rejected. I was even asked by some prayer leaders to keep it to myself because it was so discouraging. For the most part I did so. But time and events appear to substantiate it. I wish it wasn't true.
The LORD says: “I cried out to My Church, but she would not listen. I cried out to America, but she would not respond. Although there are a few who listen and obey, it is not enough to turn the ship of state. Judgment begins in My House, and My judgments will now start to unfold. America, I now pluck out your eagle’s wings and remove the covering of my own wings over you. Where once you were the hope of the world, you have sold out to Babylon. The shame of your harlotry is now uncovered for all to see. But still they won’t see, blinded by reason, tempted by riches, motivated by self. And so the countdown begins. Prepare ye the way of the LORD.” (6/23/07)
In the face of widespread rejection of this word, I asked the Lord why do so many prayer warriors and prophets believe that there will be a widespread spiritual awakening in America? He showed me:
Because they are prophesying God’s Heart not His 'rhema' (i.e. spoken) Word. Does God wish that none should perish? Of course, He says so in His (logos) Word. Does this mean that all will be saved? Of course not, because His (logos) Word speaks often of spiritual death and eternal damnation. Does God wish that a worldwide, end-time revival should sweep the earth? Of course. Does that mean it will happen? No, because His (logos) Word speaks only of war, famine, pestilence and a one-world government run by the beastly anti-Christ. (Rev. 13)
Does this mean that we give up and no longer pray for revival, reformation and transformation? Of course not because the (logos) Word tells us to “pray without ceasing” (1Thess. 5:17) and to pray for all our government leaders (1Tim.2:1-1). We must speak and pray God’s heart because the (logos) Word tells the Church to speak “the manifold wisdom of God” to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places." (Eph. 3:10). But we must not declare this to be prophetic (rhema) Words from God. We must learn to distinguish between His Heart and His prophetic Word.
We speak forth His Heart into the spiritual atmosphere where it will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). However, since not enough of the Church is doing so, this will result in pockets of revival not an all-encompassing national or worldwide revival. All our prayers do have a positive impact and we must keep up and expand our efforts. But we must refrain from prophetically declaring God’s Heart as representing what is actually going to happen – or else many will fall away in unbelief and discouragement as the “beginning of sorrows” (Matt. 24:8) progresses.
Our primary priority in prayer needs to be directed toward individual salvations. We must shine the light of Jesus out into the world to bring in the harvest. That's why God's logos Word laments:
The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. (Matthew 9:37-38)
